AFF Choo Choo Mini Train Adventure
Join Autism Family Friends (AFF) for a fun afternoon at Burnaby Central Railway! This public community event invites families to enjoy a ride on the mini train, explore the grounds, and take part in a relaxed day of outdoor fun.
Each ticket includes one train ride. Children under 3 ride for free - tickets are only required for riders aged 3 and up.
AFF will also have a designated tent on site for AFF families, a welcoming, supportive space to take a break, connect with our team, and enjoy the event at your own pace. Whether you need a quiet moment or just a familiar place to land, our tent is here for you throughout the afternoon.

AFF Father’s Day Mini Golf Social
Calling all AFF dads! ⛳️
Join us for a relaxed Father’s Day mini golf night at West Coast Mini Putt — a chance for dads to get together, unwind, laugh, and connect with other dads in the community.
We’ll have two staggered tee times, with one group starting at 6:10pm and the second at 6:20pm, so everyone will still overlap and get to hang out throughout the evening.
Regular mini golf pricing is $18 per person, but AFF dads will receive a discounted rate of $15 per person.
After mini golf, dads are welcome to join for an optional self-paid dinner nearby to keep the conversations going. Restaurant location will be announced closer to the date.
No kids, no agenda — just a fun night out with other dads who get it.

Kerrisdale Play Palace Playdate
Join us for a privately booked, sensory-friendly play experience at Kerrisdale Play Palace, created exclusively for the Autism Family Friends community.
This special session gives children the opportunity to explore, move, and play in a safe and supportive environment, without the crowds or overwhelm of a public play session. By reserving the space just for our group, we’re able to create a calmer atmosphere where families can relax and children can engage at their own pace.
It’s a chance for kids to enjoy free play in a fun, engaging indoor playground, while parents and caregivers connect with others who understand the joys and challenges of raising neurodivergent children.

St. Patrick's Spring Fair
St. Patrick’s Elementary Spring Fair Fundraiser
Join us for the St. Patrick’s Elementary Spring Fair, a community event supporting the school’s upcoming upgrades and redevelopment.
AFF will be hosting a dedicated sensory space at the fair, a calm, welcoming environment where children can take a break, explore at their own pace, and recharge before heading back to the festivities. Whether you need a quiet moment or a softer space to land, we’re here for you.

Each month, the Weekend Coffee Meet will rotate to a different city, making it easier for families across the region to join when it’s closest to them.
AFF Goes to the Movies, Again!
Join us for a special Super Mario Galaxy movie screening. This event is open to friends and family of AFF members.
Our sensory-friendly screening features lower volume and softer lighting to create a comfortable experience for all kids. Children are encouraged to move around freely—there’s no pressure to remain seated throughout the movie.
To support skill-building, discounted concessions will be available for families to practice waiting in line, ordering, and making payments in a low-stress setting.
We’ll provide visual supports to help kiddos understand what to expect during the event, alongside social stories shared ahead of time so parents can prepare their children for the movie experience.
Movement regulation tools such as tents, tunnels, balance beams, and various fidgets will be available throughout the space to help children stay calm and engaged.

AFF Moms Box It Out!
Moms Only: Rumble Boxing + Brunch
Moms, this one’s just for you. 💙
Join us for a Saturday morning sweat session at Rumble Boxing (Mount Pleasant), followed by a casual brunch at Steamworks Mount Pleasant. This is a free AFF community event focused on moving your body, releasing some stress, and connecting with other moms who get it — no caregiving roles, no multitasking, just time for yourself.
No boxing experience is needed. Come as you are, go at your own pace, and do what feels right for your body. After class, we’ll head to Steamworks Mount Pleasant to relax, refuel, and connect over brunch (brunch is self-paid).
Glove rentals will be provided for free (regularly $4).
Please note: boxing hand wraps are required for safety. Participants will need to bring their own wraps or purchase them at the studio for $19 + tax.

Our first 2026 AFF Dads’ Night is happening on Friday, Feb 7th at 6:30 PM! 🎳
We’ll be meeting at Grandview Lanes on Commercial Drive for 1 hour of bowling. Bowling is self-pay, and spots are limited, so please register in advance to confirm your place.
After bowling, anyone who’d like to keep the night going is invited to join us for dinner at B House Restaurant, just a 1-minute walk from the lanes.

Drop off your new or gently used toys, sensory items, and books early at Watermelon Sessions, or come by on the day of the event to donate while browsing for something new-to-you!
Enjoy a cozy, family-friendly afternoon with a photo zone, sensory-friendly activities for the kiddos, and plenty of opportunities to connect over cookies, treats, and conversation. ✨
All proceeds from the drive will go to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, supporting children and families across B.C. 💛

Join us for a relaxed evening in River District, at a clubhouse amenities room — a cozy spot to unwind, connect, and enjoy great company.
Take a break from the daily hustle and spend time with other amazing moms who understand the ups and downs of raising neurodivergent kids.
AFF is covering the room rental, and there’s just a $15 per person contribution to help cover light refreshments and non-alcoholic drinks. Feel free to bring your own beverage, or pick something up from the liquor store conveniently located downstairs.

Two hours of golf sponsored by AFF
Food and beverages are self‑funded.
